Forever in Our Hearts
Every day, we miss you.
For 35 years, you walked life’s path beside me, and for 26 of those years, you were my beloved wife.
You were the heart of our family, the light that filled our home, and the love that held us together. Though you are no longer with us, your spirit lives on in Meadhbh, Eoghan, Connor, and in my heart every day.
The last two and a half years brought challenges none of us wished to face. Yet with remarkable courage and determination, you fought lung cancer with grace and strength. Even in your own struggle, you sought to help others, sharing knowledge and raising awareness where so little information could be found.
The friendships and support you found through those Zoom calls with others on the same journey brought comfort, hope, and moments of joy. Seeing your smile during those conversations was a gift to us all.
The day we were told the cancer had spread felt impossible to comprehend. Yet through it all, you remained brave, loving, and selfless.
Deirdre, on 22 November 2023, you slipped peacefully from this life with your family and friends gathered by your side.
Though we can no longer hold your hand, we hold your memory close. Your love still guides us, your laughter still echoes in our hearts, and your presence is felt in the countless memories you left behind.
Loved beyond words. Missed beyond measure.
