Many people impacted by cancer find engaging with others online and/or in person to be very beneficial. The experience of dealing with a lung cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment may only be fully understood by someone else going through the same thing.

The Irish Lung Cancer Community has active Facebook, Twitter (X) and Instagram accounts, each of which are regularly updated with news from the community. People use these social media channels as a way of linking in with other members of the community, finding information, and learning about events.

Details of our monthly virtual Fireside Chats, which take place on the first Thursday of every month at 8pm, are shared on our social media. These informal meetings, which are especially for people living with lung cancer, provide a safe and supportive space to discuss any topic of interest. Notice of the upcoming meetings are shared on social media early in the week and the link to access the Fireside Chat is then shared on Twitter (X) and to our closed Facebook group on the morning of the meeting.
